The Tower Challenge

To get as many people as possible to climb the equivalent of 110 stories on the Power Mills in the Fitness Center.  You can do this individually, as partners, or teams.  We invite Firefighters, Police, Military personnel and civilians of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Asheboro Fire Department 9.11 Memorial Ruck

The event begins and ends at AFD Station 1, following a 9.11 mile route around the city. A ruck is traditionally performed with a weighted pack, however SCBA or plate carriers are also used. You may also simply walk with no additional weight.

Parking is limited at Station 1. Additional parking is available in the lots on Church St, between the Academy St. and Hill St. intersections. Click here for more information or to join!

The 9.11 Mile Memorial Challenge

Your personal challenge to either walk, jog, run, row, swim, or bike 9.11 miles during the week of September 10-18 in remembrance of 911.  

Everyone participating can record their challenge on the board in the YMCA Fitness Center.

 

9/11 Challenge Shirts

Shirts are $20. Place orders at the Front Desk. 
Shirts will be ready for pick up September 5th.
