Beastmode Functional Training Center

Wellness Director- Robin Hatch

WHAT IS BEASTMODE?

BeastMode is a challenging but rewarding core strength and functional conditioning program that is structured around elements of track and field, strength training, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics training and metabolic conditioning in the workout of the day. BeastMode teaches functional movement patterns that can be experienced by anyone of any fitness level, as the movements and exercises are scalable. BeastMode is for athletes seeking to improve performance or a committed individual of any age wanting a healthier life who is willing to work hard! BeastMode is more than a class. It's a community!

WHAT IS AN AVERAGE WORKOUT LIKE?

An average workout is an hour. At the beginning we will warm up, work on functional movement, work on a skill (e.g. ring pushups) and lift (e.g. squats or deadlifts), then get to the Metcon (metabolic conditioning) also called the workout of the day (WOD). Each WOD is a circuit focusing on strength, speed, and/or precision. All WODs can be completed by people of any age, size or ability. After the workout is complete, we’ll cool down and stretch.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

There is a signup sheet behind the Front Desk of the Y in front of the Community Room to enroll in the introductory course. This will give you the opportunity to meet us and find out firsthand what we do and who we are. The introductory course is a two class series designed to teach you functional movements you need to be comfortable, confident, and safe in the regular class. We will cover the basic lifts that allow you to be successful in the class.

  • Every participant must complete a series of two intro classes to attend a regularly scheduled class
  • BeastMode classes are included as a part of your YMCA membership
  • BeastMode is for ages 15 and up
